Originally from the Republic of Uzbekistan, Oybek Tashpulzatov graduated from the Uzbek College of Choreography in 1987. Since graduating, Oybek has spent the past thirty years honing his dancing, choreography, and teaching skills with some of the most eminent members of the international dance community.
After receiving the national title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the President of Uzbekistan himself, Oybek made his way to the United States by way of invitation to be Principal Dancer and Ballet Master at the world-renowned International Ballet at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Oybek would go on to dance at Ballet Theatre of Boston as well as the Dance at Holy Trinity in New York City. Oybek’s illustrious career included tours in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Germany, Russia, and China before he made the midwestern United States his home by joining the Ballet International of Indianapolis.
Oybek counts himself privileged to have worked alongside talented professionals within the dance community at Butler University, Anderson University, and several other prestigious dance programs. He has both groomed and grown alongside such pillars in the dance community as Irina Kolpakova, Vladilen Semenov, Sergei Berezhnoi, Eldar Aliev, Jose Mateo, among others.
While Mr. Tashpulzatov’s distinguished career has led him across the globe, he is eager to make his mark on the prominent up-and-coming dancers of Indianapolis at Turning Pointe Academy of Dance.
